Located on the fourth floor of Shimao 52+ in Changsha, the restaurant serves thick-cut grilled ox tongue that is seared at high temperature until the surface is slightly charred while the inside remains tender. The thick-cut steak is juicy and lets you savor the true flavor of the beef. Other dishes include Typhoon Shelter‑style stir‑fried abalone, salmon hand rolls, and creamy milk pudding. Reservations can be made in advance for counter seats or private rooms.

“The teppanyaki counter was empty, with no one else around, giving it a desolate feel. After the meal rush had passed, I suddenly didn’t feel hungry anymore, so I only ordered three small dishes. They served tea and water attentively, and the service was thoughtful — the entire dining experience went very smoothly. In fact, life doesn’t require a big feast at every meal. Sometimes simplicity and blandness can be a joy in themselves. Eating Japanese cuisine in a shopping mall, I unexpectedly found myself in the serene, poetic mood of ‘Lotus Pond under Moonlight’.”

You need to make a reservation one day in advance. The ingredients, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch—honestly, nothing to complain about, really excellent. All the dishes are made right in front of you by the head chef. The only thing is, the VIP-exclusive price on Dianping is actually higher than the regular set menu price—no idea why. But if you want to have a nice, good-looking meal, this place is perfect. I’ll come back next time and try other things.
